Cogwheels
by Patience Lake

Creak.
The cogwheels turn.
The old mill stands alone.
It has a majestic air to it, like a king’s throne.
The cogwheels do so much, yet they are ignored.
Wheat goes in, flour comes out.
Creak, Creak, Creak.
